Channel 4 Identity Style Guide
It’s impressive how serious the British are about their television identities. Whereas in North America it’s largely an afterthought or a dog’s breakfast. Though I will give credit to CBC news for their recent-ish redesign, which is streets ahead of the competition and puts a slab serif to good use. 
I find that there is trend amongst North American outfits where they try to make their identities look as valuable or as powerful as possible, as if their logos were crafted out of some rarified translucent rock found on the moon that only television networks are allowed to mine. 
Ex. CBS and ABC 
Then there’s Fox News and their vertigo-inducing red to blue gradients, reminiscent of both the American flag and Tylenol PM.
